Community Guidelines

1. Be good to each other

• No harassment, bullying, stalking, or unwanted contact. If someone asks you to stop, stop.
• No hate speech, and no slurs or attacks on anyone for who they are: race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or anything else.
• No threats, and nothing that encourages violence or self-harm.
• No sexual or explicit content, and no unwanted sexual advances.

2. Keep it real and keep it private

• Don't pretend to be someone else.
• Members go by usernames. Never share another member's real name, contact details, photos, or whereabouts without their OK.
• Don't post photos of people at an event if they've asked you not to.

3. Drink responsibly

Rum & Thatch is for adults 21 and older. We celebrate craft and good company, not getting hammered. Don't encourage anyone to drink more than they want to, to drink underage, or to drive after drinking.

4. No spam, no scams

No ads, no selling, no get-rich schemes, and no mass messages that aren't from a market's Organizer.

5. Follow the rules of the place

Obey the law and each venue's house rules, including local ordinances. Some beaches, for example, ban alcohol, glass, and fires. Organizers can ask anyone to leave an event.

6. Report it, or block them

• Report a profile or a post, comment, or message with the Report button, on the website or in the app. You can also email contact@rumandthatch.com with what happened. We read every report and aim to respond within 24 hours. We also automatically flag the worst language so we can review it.
• Block a member and they can no longer message you, send you a friend request, or notify you, and you can no longer do those things to them. Blocking someone also removes them from your friends.

7. What happens when the rules are broken

We remove content that breaks these rules, and we may suspend or delete the account of anyone who does it. We have zero tolerance for hate, threats, harassment, and sexual exploitation, and we may report serious cases to the authorities. These guidelines are part of our Terms of Service.

8. Child safety

• Rum & Thatch is for adults 21 and older, and you confirm your age when you join. We close any account we believe belongs to someone under 21.
• We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexualized content involving a minor, and any attempt to contact, meet, or exploit a minor through Rum & Thatch. It is never allowed, in any form.
• Report anything like this with the Report button on any profile, post, comment, or message, on the website or in the app, or email contact@rumandthatch.com. A person reviews every report, and these come first.
• We remove the content, close the account, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to law enforcement, as the law requires.
