Founding Organizers

Bring Rum & Thatch to your market

Rum & Thatch is gathering in Northeast Florida today. More Florida markets are scouted and waiting, and each one opens once there's a local Organizer to run it.

A Founding Organizer is that first person: someone who knows the rooms, can bring the first crowd, and wants to host the first Mixer.

What an Organizer does

An Organizer runs Rum & Thatch in one market: a monthly Mixer at a great tiki or tropical bar, and in time Driftwood Socials on the beach and Ember Nights at a cigar lounge. There is one Organizer per market.

What we ask

  • You live in or near the market.
  • You're 21 or older.
  • Once the market opens, you host at least one Mixer a month and attend it in person.
  • You follow the Organizer Agreement.

What you get

  • The Founding Organizer title.
  • The Organizer badge on your profile.
  • The event tools for your market: create events, track RSVPs, and announce them to members there.
  • First say on the venues.
  • A direct line to the founder.

It's a volunteer role. There's no pay or revenue share.

How it works

  1. 1

Apply. A few questions about you, the area, and where a first Mixer could land. Takes about five minutes.

  2. 2

Talk. If it looks like a fit, we set up a quick call.

  3. 3

Get named. You become the market's Founding Organizer, and your badge goes live.

  4. 4

Plan the first Mixer. Together we pick the room and the date.

  5. 5

Open the market. When we open it, your event tools unlock and members there get the invitation.
