Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

Rum & Thatch is built around craft spirits and in-person gatherings and is intended only for adults of legal drinking age. You must be at least 21 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the service. By using it, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Accounts & membership

Rum & Thatch membership is free, and no paid tier is currently offered. Membership is strictly 21+. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

3. Billing & cancellation

Paid memberships are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your dashboard; cancellation stops future charges and your access continues until the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may change pricing on prospective notice.

4. Registry confidentiality

The home-bar registry and any host addresses, contact details, or event information you access through it are private and shared with you in confidence. You agree not to copy, publish, resell, or otherwise disclose this information to anyone outside the platform. Misuse of registry data is grounds for immediate termination.

5. Gatherings & venues

Our gatherings take place at independent third-party venues that we do not own or operate. Those venues, not Rum & Thatch, are responsible for alcohol service, capacity, and compliance with the laws of their jurisdiction. Naming or featuring a venue is enthusiasm, not an endorsement, partnership, or guarantee. You attend at your own risk and are responsible for your own conduct, for getting home safely, and for following local ordinances at beach gatherings.

6. Member conduct

By using Rum & Thatch you agree not to:

• Provide false information or impersonate anyone.
• Harass, endanger, or violate the privacy of other members or hosts.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
• Attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the platform or its security.

7. In-person events & assumption of risk

Rum & Thatch is a platform that connects members; it does not host, supervise, or control private gatherings. Attendance at any event is voluntary and at your own risk. You are responsible for drinking responsibly, arranging safe transportation, and your own conduct. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rum & Thatch is not liable for injuries, damages, or losses arising from in-person events or interactions between members.

8. Intellectual property

The Rum & Thatch name, branding, design, and content are owned by us and may not be used without permission. You retain ownership of content you submit (such as your profile photo) and grant us a license to host and display it as needed to operate the service.

9. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rum & Thatch and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, misuse the registry, or create risk for other members. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including confidentiality and liability limits, will continue to apply.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

12. Changes

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. When we make material changes we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
